TheFBomb.org is a new community for teenage Feminists! They have links at the top to sort out the blog entries like "Pop Culture," "Feminism," and "Awareness." Meant to be by and for young Feminists who are "just a little bit pissed off" I highly recommend this to young Feminists looking for community. Check it out!!
NewMoon.com is the web presence of a magazine written for and by young girls (I think the cut off age is 12 or 13). I really wish something like this had existed when I was young. I recommend this to all my friends with young daughters.
Scarleteen.com is a sex ed site for teenagers devoted to disseminating real and accurate information. I heartily endorse this site. Teens have been having sex since teens existed, they aren't going to stop because someone older shakes a finger at them. We need to arm them with the information to make informed, safe choices about their sexuality, and abstinence only ain't cutting it.
This one's an extra: Gothic-Charm-School.com: While this is ostensibly neither a Feminist nor Teen site, the author, Jillian Venters, fields a ton of questions from teens searching for their identity in the Gothic style. Also, much of her advice on how to navigate high school social situations, parental drama and volatile social situations involves a fair amount of Feminist ideals, even if she wouldn't necessarily call it that. And, disclaimers ahoy! she's a friend. I include this, not because she's a friend, but because as a "Batcaver" in the parlance of the day, I would have killed to find a positive and supportive voice who spoke common sense during my teen years.
I'll try to come up with some more pertinent links and announcements to bridge the gap while Elana's away!
