Contemplative...

Part of the reason I haven't posted much here is that I'm still not over the frothing with sputtering profanities stage of my grief over Dr. Tiller's death.  It's still very raw, very real, and very, very upsetting that the powers that be are still not calling it what it is:  Terrorism. 

Terror-fucking-ism. 

See?  I told you. 

Now, I don't often cry at the deaths of people I have never actually met, but when I heard about Dr. Tiller's death, I wept.  Not just for him and for his family in their time of grief, but for all of the women in truly desperate straits who will no longer benefit from his empathetic and medically skilled approach to their distress.   I have a desperate and burning desire to get out there and wreak vengeance with a great big baseball bat, possibly after driving nails through it. 

Then, reading the epitaphs of Dr. Tiller and his career on "Pro-Life" websites made me rethink the baseball bat and start fantasizing about nuking certain people from orbit.  It's the only way to be sure.

You know, for a bunch of people who are so fond of the Bible, they sure have a hell of a lot of trouble practicing what it directs them to do.  That whole "not bearing false witness" thing, and the "judge not lest ye be judged," part... Because there seems to be one hell of a lot of both going on here. 

And see, that's the nice thing about not being Christian.  I can judge all I want. 

Now I don't bear false witness, because there's one commandment in my personal ethical structure, and that's "Don't be a shithead."  Telling lies about someone, particularly after they're dead and can't defend themselves?  Shithead.  Trying to force your beliefs on other people, frequently through violence?  Shithead.  Murdering someone in cold blood in a house of worship?  You guessed it.  SHIT-HEAD.  Beyond shithead.  I can't even convey in words how far beyond it is. 

See?  And this is calm and rational version.  You should see what I wrote in my personal blog the day I heard.  It would make Lenny Bruce blush. 

Oh, and while I'm talking about that great big book the "Pro-Lifers" are so fond of trotting out as their raison d'etre, let's just talk about another part they keep forgetting about:  Thou Shalt Not Fucking Kill.  Ok, the interjection's all mine, but you get the idea. 

But back to terrorism.  Let's go to Merriam-Webster Online for the definition of terrorism:  " the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion."

Hmmm, campaigns of constant picketing, harassing doctors, staff and patients at home and at large in their communities, vandalism, bombing, arson, anthrax scares, printing the names and addresses of doctors, taking pictures of patients, and shooting people, several of them, several times... 

Well, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, I'm gonna bet it's a fucking duck. 

All organizations with ties to the scumbag who did this, who had been caught vandalizing abortion clinics before (Can you say escalation? I knew you could.) are terrorists.  Period.  Full stop.  And should be prosecuted as such to the fullest extent of the law. 

You assholes are responsible for the MURDER of a man in the HOUSE OF YOUR GOD!  Own it, you miserable, weaselly little shitheads.

And no, I'm not going to apologize for being angry.

Right you are. I'd start a long comment post to talk about how far from everything that is decent and human this murder was, and what a small-souled and despicable creature you have to be in order to cheer for it, but I'd be... preaching to the choir.
