I'm not sure if the mother's look in the final panel is disbelief that her daughter might think she has something better to do with her life than cook for a husband, or dismay that her daughter might be marrying someone so unmanly that he would cook, but either way it's classic gender stereotyping. It could be the mom is thinking, "Now why didn't I think of that?!" Without a thought bubble, we'll never know.
I do agree that the assumption that she thought she had to teach her daughter to cook as soon as the daughter is going to marry is stereotypical.
