Thank you for making your historic bid for the presidency. And history you did make! Girls across the country know now that they can try to be anything they want to be, even the President of the United States. Those of us who dreamed of the first woman president stood by you--literally and figuratively--and we are so proud of you. The nearly 18 million voters who cast their ballot of faith in you believed in you and what your run represented. Thank you for bringing us together around such an inspiring campaign.
Your campaign also illuminated the deep seeded sexism in this country, and how far we still need to go. In preparing to watch your exit speech today it is just as obvious as every other day of this race. Carl Bernstein was just yapping on about how after law school you had "hitched your star to your husband's" and how this was during the "most militant period in feminism." I wanted to wring his neck. Him and the rest of them, lining up like a pack of wolves to finish off their prey. But, you've held your own, stood your ground, kept looking ahead at the mountain in front of you.
You are about to make a speech announcing the suspension of your campaign, and I'm anxious to hear how you will use this moment. But, I'm sad. Really sad. We came so close and I'm just not ready for it to be over.
I hope your endorsement of Obama will be taken to heart by your supporters who have said they will vote for McCain. I think that is a sentiment born out of anger, because it is certainly not rational. [Please, people, stop saying that. It is only making things worse.]
I know this is not the end for you; you still have so much more to offer with your leadership in the important battles you have spent your life committed to. But, thank you for taking us up the mountain with you. We may not have reached the peak, but we can see it better now, and you were an incredible lead hiker to follow.
I am in California and am very upset over the way the Democratic Party and Media conducted the campaign. They threw Hillary Clinton under the bus from
the very beginning starting in January. The Primaries just begun when they were saying she should get out. Obama was treated like the Golden Boy, don't give him any hard questions you will embarrass him. They continued to trash Hillary but never touch Obama. They gave Hillary the questions first so that Obama could follow her lead since he had no clue what the answer was.
During the last debate is when he was scrutinized and he did not like that, therefore would not debate anymore. Yet they treat him as the Golden Boy. He is just out of first grade when talking about the President of our Country. Hillary is by far much more experienced but refuse to give her credit or the right time of day. Every time she wins a Primary, the next day he comes out with something to take the momentum away from her, i.e., Ohio, Gov Richardson endorses Obama, West Virginia, Edwards endorses Obama.
Obama is such a weak person that I believe his wife will be running the Presidency. If only everyone can read the fine lines.
Therefore, since this was not conducted to give Hillary a fare chance I decided to change my party affiliation to Independent and I WILL NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA. THE ONLY POSSIBLE CHANCE WOULD BE IF SHE IS THE VICE PRESIDENT,although it should be the other way around. We will have the Chief reporting
to the Clerk. They are thinking we will come arount but I have news for them.

Please do not let divide on conquer tactics work on us. It pains me to hear women say they will vote for McCain over Obama. The reality of our situation during the primary season is that whomever lost it was going to be a shame. We should be proud that it was the Democratic Party that put forth these two historic candidates.
We have very important issues to address during this next presidency and it is important we have someone in that seat who views things as we do. McCain is not our friend.
It reminds me of when I was a child and my parents would tell my brother and I not to fight outside. We were to be supportive of one another out of the house...and free to go at it when we got home.
