MSNBC's David Shuster Suspended for Chelsea Comment

David Shuster and many of his buddies at MSNBC are creeps. The sexist coverage of Hillary Clinton's campaign is obvious to anyone who doesn't live under a rock and in this instance Shuster was (temporarily at least) booted for it.
Shuster said last week that it was "unseemly" that the Clinton's were "pimping out" Chelsea Clinton for the campaign. Ok, first: his comment totally denies Chelsea's agency as a 27-year old person who has been raised her whole life with a political backdrop, and has long been an ardent supporter of her mother (and vice versa), to be involved in the campaign of her own volition. Second, the whole pimping analogy just really brings to the surface the underlying misogyny of Shuster. And probably the network. And pretty much mainstream media in general.
He made the standard apology, but Clinton said she'd have to strongly consider ever participating in one of their debates again and MSNBC temporarily suspended him.
Right on. Let that be one step of many towards demanding integrity from our media.
